at the beginning

We were strangers
Starting out on a journey
Never dreaming what we'd have to go through
Now here we are
And I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you all

We were strangers
On a crazy adventure
Never dreaming how are dreams could come true
Now here we stand
Unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you all

Shared Leadership

well, one thing im really amazed throughout this whole LTB module is that the roles of each of us are spontaneously rotated! And the thing is, this is not pre-arranged...but somehow we just ended up assuming each other's roles along the way. For example, for the "Leader I have Known" project, grace and I are the ideas producer (lame and cute creative ones.. =P) but for this final presentation, Nasir and Kelvin become the creative ones...*Nasir..you better be honoured k!* haha..while grace take on Kel's role as the overall coordinator and I took on Nasir's role as the secretary taking minutes. As for Lawrence, he continues to be the outstanding finance manager of Timeline and constantly reminds us to come up with contingency plans with every plan we have in mind.

this is a cool epitomy of shared leadership man! haha.

you guys rocks! :)

den, SURPRISE, they popped out of nowhere with a birthdae cake.. haha, (without it being lighted it).. n i finally managed to blow 19 candles.. wooo... three cheers to my grp for being so damn sweet, was super duper touched..

NE trail

we had so much fun, it almost seems like a crime since we're doing an important project... to see kel smiling and grinning with group 1 boys... chew and law havin fun with group 2.. n even nasir cracking a grin now and then... yes.. we've changed... from the time we were at cathay (n i sae we're not close enough), til nw, we're comfortable enough to discuss the scandals of the grp.. haha.. n yes, i tink we also saw a change in the kids.. like how mischievious and scary lookin some of them were on the first day... n how they gave in to us somehow in the second day.. i tink the kids are real cute and funnie.. n i tink it's rather funnie how we grow 'soft' and try to maintain our stand when they comin beggin for help durin the AR...

ya, i dun mind cheering for u guys for the boy's soccer... yeah, but minus the pom poms.. the creative minds will tink of betta and more interesting ways to spur u guys on.. but west coast.. where is that.........

i tink i'll say it again.. timeline rocks!!!

Mission Accomplished!

Once again, Timeline proved itself to be an effective, fun loving and enjoyable group. One need only to look at the photos to see how enjoyable it was, for both the group and the participants. There's still more 'happening' photos coming up though!

Back to Friday itself, one can't help the feeling of satisfaction at a job well done. It wasn't without a few scares though. I was first at Raffles Place where it rained pretty heavily just as the race started, but somehow it stopped just as the first group burst through the turnstiles of the MRT station. Later after the first pit stop it rained again, and I thought we should have sought shelter, but my buddy Chew Yan urged us to press on. She wanted us to seek shelter at Civilian War Memorial....but we then found out that four pillars don't provide much shelter... Anyway it was wonderful to see everyone carrying on despite the heavy rain, and not once did the participants request to stop. And so we moved on, with our drenched clothes plastered to our bodies and my hair gel dripping on my face to our next destination. We were lucky again when the rain stopped for a second time.

Apart from the rain, everything else went through smoothly. Now at home, as I look through and pack the AR kit again (secretary must keep everything) I can't help thinking of how we got to where we are now. Remember the 'half-time' meeting at Cathay and how we decided to cheong all the way to full time? My word, how we 'cheonged'... the many AR meetings and debriefs, the late night recce, the sweaty killer recce at fort canning, the evening making the snakes and ladders....the phone calls certain people sacrificed... =P

It was all worth it though. It was so successful that now we gladly have to move on to 'extra-time' - post AR event and the presentation. Before we dive again into the planning and stuff, I just wanna salute my teammates and our dear Weina for a job well done. We've grown so much as a team since the first meeting when we had weird first impressions of each other haha =)
Looking forward to more activities and laughter with my dearest TIMELINE!!

Operation "NE Boulevard" a Success!!!

Hey ladies and gentlemen!

Today's event is a 100% success and everyone deserves an A+++ for your commendable performance. Although I am physically tired now but mentally I pretty much very motivated and active now. All our hardwork for the past 8 weeks had finally materialised and what we had achieved today is something which everyone can be proud of at least for the next few weeks. This is the second milestone which TIMELINE had created besides the skit on a good and toxic leader.

Everybody had demonstrated leadership today. Firstly, Grace has demonstrated contingency leadership coordinating the amazing race even though there was rain and hiccups along the way. Chew yan has been bubbly and inspirational figure for group 2. Nasir had demonstrated competent leadership in guiding the youths towards the right answers during the activities. Kelvin has taught the youths in group1 a wonderful lesson today by leading them towards the path of life and therefore changing someone's life in the process. For me I was busy making fun of Aima and Viknesh so much so that I almost forgot that it was an amazing race. Not forgetting Weina for being the chief camera woman of the day whereby she spearhead the filming operations for the AR single-handedly(since you only need one hand to hold a video-camera).

Everyone deserve a pat on their shoulder. KUDOS to everyone for leading the youths effectively even thought there is quite a heavy downpour initially. Seng Meng is really happy about what we had put forward today and it seems to me a post AR event is inevitable. Since those youths have beenbribed by my movie and macdonald vouchers, the subsequent post event should be an easy going one. I am so relieved that they love the prizes if not I would have suffer the amount of sweat and trauma in vain(almost got knock down by a car while picking up the mac voucher on e road).

Not only had we done ourselves proud but we had done SMU proud too. Just to let you all know that Seng Meng told me that previously they also work with some SMU students but the results wasn't even satisfactory. Thus, our 'precise' performance today has actually altered their impression on SMU students again. Hooray.....!!! We had saved SMU from the pit of darkness. We are the unsung heroes of SMU's successful brand image.

In the coming weeks, Nasir, Kelvin and me will probably be joining the youths for soccers at West Coast if we have the time. Maybe the ladies can make some pom pom and do some cheer leading for us. By the way I had conveyed my interest in volunteering with the organisation to Seng Meng but everything is not finalised yet. So whoever are interested please do let me know cos we can do it together.

Well lastly I just wanna thanked the team for giving me the right influence and changing me. You all had changed my life. Hoho.... ;p

day 1!

hey guys!

great job on day 1 - was extremely glad to see the students participating fully, enjoying themselves and getting a very good understanding of singapore's history. i was extremely amazed at how chewyan managed to get the chinese guy to play along in the final 2 games when his buddy zao-ed already! and kudos to kelvin for teaching your group singapore's history as they went through the twister look-alike game! and grace for being so enthusiastic during ice breaker whacko, cuz i thought the kids were ganging up to call your name *muahahaha* and nasir for the most wonderful intro/briefing of AR and getting real close to the kids, and of course lawrence for getting all the logistics done for today perfecto!
too bad the tape ran out before the skit was out. or was there a skit ultimately since the program was supposed to end at 1130.. ><

tmr is the beeeeg day where everyone will be running around city area.. dont play cheat ar! nah im sure you guys wont. this old body of mine will attempt to catch the groups running around everywhere and video the entire day's of events into an hour's worth of tape. i hope there's enough time to capture a 6 hour event into a 1 hour tape recording.

meanwhile, rest well, drink lots of water, save energy and gear up for the BIG day tmr!
